What does getting implants involve?

Dental implant placement

Your dentist administers nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral conscious sedation. When the anesthetic sets in, they place a series of small titanium posts into your empty tooth sockets. The number of implants you receive depends on how many teeth are missing and the type of restoration you want.

After placement, your mouth needs to heal for several months. During that period, the implants fuse with your bone.

Dental implant follow up

When the implants finish integrating with your bone, you return to Fremaux Dental Care. Your dentist takes impressions of your mouth and sends them to a nearby dental lab. Then, the lab creates custom restorations, like crowns, bridges, or implant-supported dentures.

Restoration placement and completion

When your crowns, bridges, or implant-supported dentures are finished, you visit Fremaux Dental Care for the last time. Your dentist attaches the restorations to your implants, polishes your teeth, and provides care instructions.

After leaving the office, you can bite and chew immediately.
